Collecting Personal Information

Order Information

  • Examples of Personal Information collected: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including debit/credit card numbers), email address and phone number.
  • Purpose of collection: to provide products or services to you to fulfil our contract, to process your payment information, arrange for shipping, and provide you with invoices and /or order confirmations, communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud, and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
  • Source of collection: collected from the customer when placing an order on the site.
  • Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify.

  • Purpose of collection: to provide customer support.
  • Source of collection: collected from customer.

 

Retaining Information

We will retain your personal information for as long as you have an account with us or as needed to provide any products or services to you. Our general retention period is up to 6 years to retain information, however, there may be times when we hold data for longer such as by law or regulations, to resolve any disputes or to prevent fraud or abuse.  We also retain any consent options and marketing preferences you provide us with.  We will appropriately dispose of any information you have provided in a confidential and secure manner once it is no longer required.

 

Children’s Information

We understand the obligations for the GDPR in relation to the privacy of children, however our business model is not targeted to children and our services would not be of interest to children.  If you are the parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at: customerservices@tech-bar.com to request deletion.

 

Sharing Personal Information

We may share your personal information with service providers to help us provide our services:

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights.  If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.

Transferring your Information outside of the UK

The information we collect from you may be transferred to and stored in countries outside of the UK, for example as we use the Cloud to hold our data it is likely that your personal information won’t be held in the UK but it will be held in the EU.  The General Data Protection Regulation applies to all EU countries including the UK, even post Brexit, meaning that all countries in the European Economic Area (EEA), have similar standards of legal protection for your personal information.

If you use our services while you are outside of the EU, your information may be transferred outside the EU to provide the service to you.
